A guy named Joe sending Disposable Heroes in Hueco Tanks, Texas. Joe is a tenacious dude. He worked this problem for several hours, always looking pretty sketchy and unsure of the moves at the top. With a weird fall into a slab from a height of about 20 feet, I was pretty sure he wasn’t going to risk it. Then he took a break and went to his special place. He must have found his power animal, ‘cause he sent the problem last try of the day. Proud. A little scary to watch, but proud.

For as long as I’ve known Renan, he’s had an artist’s eye for the world. Now he’s cultivated his eye and technical skill sufficiently to realize a very unique, very moving vision through the medium of video. His climbing and adventure skills allow him to go places that normal videographers cannot. His 2013 Reel is a beautiful distillation of his vision. Enjoy.
